Mission Statement
The
mission of St. Albert the Great School, as a vital ministry of this parish
community, is to prepare students to be socially responsible people with strong
Catholic beliefs, practices, traditions and values, to guide students to
respect their diversity, and to challenge them to excel academically and grow
spiritually.
Faculty,
staff and students endeavor to attain this mission by pursuing the following
objectives:
·
Develop a sense of moral and spiritual values, respect for life and a
conscious and active faith.
·
Foster an appreciation for active stewardship, life long formation and
provide instruction in Catholic Christian identity on which to base judgments.
·
Provide opportunities for each child to fulfill his/her potential
through programs that not only include core concepts, but decision-making,
critical thinking and self-learning skills as well.
·
Maintain a curriculum that will enable each student to make a positive contribution
to society.
·
Work in cooperation with parents, who are the primary educators, as
well as the rest of the community.
·
Establish and reinforce a positive self-image by providing an
encouraging, pleasant, safe and supportive environment.
·
Vary materials, approaches and methods within the classrooms to meet
the learning rates and individual needs of the students.
·
Use a positive approach and recognize accomplishments.
·
Evaluate progress cooperatively and constructively in an on-going
process through reports, conferences, and other forms of communication.
Attainment
of these goals will be pursued through centering ourselves in prayer and
participating at Liturgies; celebrating the Sacraments; performing ecumenical
community service; following the directives of the Office of Lifelong Formation
& Education; and participating in co-curricular and extra curricular
activities.
Philosophy
St. Albert the Great, parish school, in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Office of Lifelong Formation & Education, strives to create a climate in which students prepare for the academic and moral challenges they face as Catholic Christians.
We
exist to instill and foster in our students the cultural traditions and beliefs
of Catholicism and to reinforce its practice in their daily lives.
